On Sunday 3rd May 2026, Birmingham came alive for the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run, and of course, we had to be part of it!
Armed with our posters, massage guns, and plenty of energy, we headed into Birmingham City Centre to cheer on everyone taking part in the Half Marathon and 10K events. From runners pushing through tired legs to supporters bringing the noise from the sidelines, the atmosphere throughout the city was incredible.
We spent the day holding motivational signs for all the superhuman runners, and the reactions were amazing! We had people smiling, waving, and even giving us thumbs up as they ran past.
And one thing we noticed? Birmingham definitely knows how to make a good sign, we saw some brilliant motivational posters throughout the day!
We also spent the day chatting to supporters cheering from the sidelines, asking who they were supporting, why their runner was taking part, and whether they had any motivational chants ready for the big moment.
Some people were running for fitness, some for the challenge, and others in memory of loved ones or to support charities close to their hearts. It was inspiring hearing all the different stories behind the day
To finish off our interviews, we asked supporters how they planned to celebrate afterwards… and by far the most popular answer was:
“The pub!” 🍻
