Several basic techniques apply no matter what type of hairstyle you are trying to achieve:

• Wet hair is generally easier to cut because fly-away strands are more manageable.
• Brush hair before and after cutting to ensure no knots.
• Use nail cutter after cutting hair to ensure you cut to the correct length
• Use nail file after using nail cutter to acheive smooth edges

1. Clean your comb/nail clippers with clear & hot water, then dry with a soft towel.

2. Put a few drops of alcohol in nail clipper joint & re-dry, this will help to absorb water in joint.

3. Put one drop of a top quality lubricating Oil into joint. Check the tension from time-to-time.

Beware these nail clippers are sharp tools. Keep them out of the reach of children. Frequent trimming of nails should be done to keep them well-maintained and manageable. The longer you wait between cuts, the more likely you are to cut the quick. Clip only the tip of the nail, straight across. Include the dewclaws, located on the inner side of the paw. Avoid clipping past the curve of the nail or you risk hitting what is called the quick (the pink area of the nail that contains the blood vessels). A nick there is painful and will bleed.
